Main Area In Front of Art Square

The illumination event takes place from the east exit of Yokohama Station to Sakura-dori, with approximately 500,000 blue, champagne gold, white LED bulbs and 60 LED lights used for stage lighting. In the main area of Art Square, which connects the Yokohama Museum of Art and Queen's Square in Minato Mirai, an experiential illumination system is created, where sound and light can be produced by touching a street piano surrounded by an arc of light.

Sakura Dori

Newly added in 2019, the Sakura Dori area is decorated with warm colored illuminations. The Suzukake Dōri Staircase also features an open and colorful park space that is one of the attractions of Yokohama as a graphic art.

This annual illumination event focuses on the area near Queen's Square Bridge and Pukarisanbashi Pier, around the entrance to Pacifico Yokohama. Since 2017, this highly popular illumination has been drawing crowds to Hama Terrace, about a 3 minute walk from the east exit of Yokohama Station. In 2019, a giant illuminated tree design can be found on the wall of the Sky Building; if you're curious to see it from your phone - or add to the buzz - you can catch it on Instagram under the #星降るテラス hashtag. In addition to the illuminations based around hues of blue and champagne gold, you can enjoy illuminated shooting stars. On clear nights, with the moon appearing above, you'll love feeling immersed in a world of celestial objects.

This Christmas event is held at Yokohama Landmark Plaza, 1st floor open space, Sakata-no-Tane Garden Square, about 6 minutes twice a day (17:30, 18:30). 'Snow' falls peacefully from the upper reaches of the building, which is about 30m high. The area is decorated with the image of a 'white forest' surrounded by snow and birch, with a light and sound show featuring the story of animals in the forest and Santa Claus.

In addition to the scheduled shows, which take place every 15 minutes, you can also enjoy a beautiful rose-themed photo spot that'll make you the envy of your Instagram followers.
